With this kind of technology, online shopping is just as safe, if not safer, than giving your details over the phone or via fax. It is much the same process as using online banking and credit card transactions (eftpos) at the shops.

To check that your information is securely protected, when completing your transaction (when you enter your credit card details), look for the 'padlock' icon at the bottom of your browser window. This is your guarantee that your data is protected. Upon completion of your transaction your credit card details are automatically erased from our system.

In addition to the online security in place by Mount Romance, bank regulations protect consumers against the cost of fraudulent use of your credit card. Should your card be misused, the bank in question will restore the lost funds (see your bank for details).
